120 <strong>With</strong> <strong>Love</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Muhammad</strong> sa the Khātam-un-Nabiyyīn<br />

خَ‏ ف ْ َ َ الَ‏<br />

This hadīth states that one day, when the Holy Prophet sa was ill<br />

– and this was a short while before his demise and he had tied<br />

his head (due <strong>to</strong> the severity of the illness) – he lifted the curtain<br />

of his door and saw that people were arranged in rows in order<br />

<strong>to</strong> pray behind Hazrat Abū Bakr ra . Addressing them, he said, ‘O<br />

people, listen! Indeed nothing has remained of the glad tidings<br />

of prophethood except the good dream which a Muslim sees or<br />

it is shown <strong>to</strong> him’. 111 Another two narrations state the<br />

following:<br />

‏ُّبُوَّ‏<br />

Atā’ bin Yasār narrates that the Holy Prophet sa said,<br />

“Nothing remains of prophethood after me except<br />

mubashirāt.” The companions said, “What are<br />

Mubashirāt, O Prophet of Allāh?” He said, “The true<br />

dream which a sālih [i.e., righteous] man sees or it is<br />
