Death of Hazrat ‘Īsā as bin Mariam ra 199
Mirzā Ghulām Ahmad as attained his status of prophethood by
being a follower of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa and came
with his seal of approval. In simple terms, the Holy Prophet sa is
a teacher of Hazrat Mirzā Ghulām Ahmad as but not a teacher of
Hazrat ‘Īsā as . In fact, the Holy Qur’an restricts the prophethood
of Hazrat ‘Īsā as to the Israelites in the following words:
وَرَ‏ سُ‏ وْ‏ لاً‏ اِلىٰ‏ بَنىِ‏ ْۤ اِسرْ‏ ٰٓ ءِيْلَۙ‏
And (he was) a Messenger to the children of Israel... 213
What will become of this statement of the Holy Qur’ān if Hazrat
‘Īsā as returns as a prophet for the whole of mankind?
Fourth, discussing this issue further, Farhan Khan
presents the following hadīth to support his viewpoint:
وaاخرجaابنaابaبۃaنaابaرaااللهaہaال:‏
aa aاالله a aبۃ aاب aبن aارۃ aد aرجل ال
حد aخاتم aالاباء aلا بa aبدہ aال aارۃ:‏
حبک aاذا aت aخاتم aالاباء،‏ aاا aا aحدث aانa
aہaامaخارج،‏aانaوaخرجaدaانaبہaوa ٰ
بدہ
Ibn Abī Shaybah reported that As-Shabī ra said,“A
man in the company of Al-Mughīrah bin Abī
Shu‘bah ra said, ‘May Allāh bless Muhammad, the Seal
of the Prophets, there is no prophet after him.’ Al-
Mughīrah said, ‘It was enough for you when you
said, ‘The Seal of the Prophets,’ for we used to discuss
