status) and my mosque is the last of the mosques (in status).”<br />

This understanding is supported by previous scholars as it has<br />

already been shown in the chapter Opinions of the Sahāba,<br />

Ā’immah, and Mujaddidīn. Other than those, Hazrat Abū<br />

‘Abdullāh <strong>Muhammad</strong> bin ‘Alī Husain Al-Hakīm At-Tirmidhī<br />

writes:<br />

نaانaخاتمaابنaتاو aہاaہ ٓ خرمaبثا<br />

ٰ a ذا؟aوaایaمaa ٰ ذا؟aذاaتاو لaابہaاجتہ<br />

ٰ<br />

ا<br />

ایaبۃa<br />

The notion that the term Khātam-an-Nabiyyīn signifies<br />

that the Holy Prophet sa was the Ākhir of the Prophets in<br />

terms of time – What glory is there in this [being the<br />

last]? And what wisdom underlies this<br />

[interpretation]? This interpretation is that of the<br />

foolish and the illiterate! 281<br />

As a result, Ahmadī Muslims do not make such an<br />

interpretation which is devoid of purpose or meaning, and<br />

which does not glorify the status of the Holy Prophet<br />

<strong>Muhammad</strong> sa .<br />

Second, Farhan Khan claims:<br />

In the above Hadīth, the Prophet sa is saying that after<br />

this masjid, referring <strong>to</strong> Masjid an-Nabawi, no masjid<br />

exists that holds special blessings from Allāh. Indeed,<br />

all masjids are blessed places in general, but no<br />

masjid, be it an ornate sanctuary for the worship of<br />

Allāh or a small tabernacle of mud and s<strong>to</strong>ne, carries<br />

any special significance over another except these<br />
