38. Some accounts claim that Rapier’s radar interfered with the Royal<br />

Navy’s radar. After all, the British army did not expect <strong>to</strong> fight alongside destroyers<br />

on the plains <strong>of</strong> central Europe! Others state that the British sent<br />

the army unit <strong>to</strong> the Falklands without radar, in contrast <strong>to</strong> the Royal <strong>Air</strong><br />

Force regiment that arrived later with Rapier and radar. Whatever the case,<br />

the initial unit that went ashore in the campaign, and the only one that saw<br />
