Prahran campus (formerly Prahran College of TAFE)<br />

joined <strong>Swinburne</strong> University of Technology in 1992. It<br />

offers TAFE courses in business, social sciences and arts<br />

and higher education degrees in graphic and industrial<br />

design.<br />

The School of Business and Information Systems and the<br />

School of Social Science and Arts offer diploma and<br />

certificate courses via full-time or part-time enrolment. The<br />

<strong>Swinburne</strong> School of Design offers a range of graphic and<br />

industrial design courses up to postgraduate level.<br />

A large number of fee-for-service short courses are also<br />

offered in the areas of entertainment, arts, language, fitness,<br />

business, computing and information technology. External<br />

study options are also available through the Off-Campus<br />

Centre.<br />

The campus is ideally situated in cosmopolitan Prahran<br />

close to the market, shops and cafes. It is small and friendly<br />

with a mixture of modern and historic buildings. Major<br />

redevelopments have been undertaken on the campus,<br />

including a refurbished School of Design building, a new<br />

Performing Arts complex and a new building housing<br />

social sciences, library, student facilities and cafeteria. Only<br />

five kilometres south of Melbourne, Prahran campus is<br />

easily accessible by train, tram and bus.<br />
