National organisation that was established in 1961 (as namhi) and is an
umbrella body for over 160 organisations that work to support the 25,000
or so people with an intellectual disability in Ireland. Its mission: to be
the independent champion of all people with an intellectual disability and
their families, to ensure their voices are heard, that they are not isolated or
segregated and that they can lead independent and healthy lives.

whether owned or rented. Provides small regular income and extra grants for
emergencies and essentials. Local volunteer visitors provide friendship.
