A resource to over 5,000 people, comprising those who have sustained a<br />

spinal cord injury, their spouses and family members. Focuses on dealing<br />

with the emotional and practical issues facing people with spinal injuries,<br />

many <strong>of</strong> whom are wheelchair users and return to work following discharge.<br />

Services: drop-in resource centre, support <strong>of</strong>fice, venture/social programme,<br />

family counselling service, information factsheets, cyber cafe, outreach<br />

service, family regional support groups.<br />

A humanitarian, intercultural, non-governmental organisation that works<br />

with asylum seekers, refugees and other disadvantaged migrant groups,<br />

with a special concern for survivors <strong>of</strong> torture. In partnership with other<br />

organisations, SPIRASI enables access to specialist services to promote<br />

the wellbeing <strong>of</strong> the person and encourages self-reliance and integration<br />

into Ireland. Services: specialised therapeutic and counselling services for<br />

survivors <strong>of</strong> torture; integrated English, computer literacy and art classes for<br />
