Co-ordinates the provision <strong>of</strong> education and support services to children<br />

with special educational needs and provides information in relation to their<br />

entitlements. Assesses and reviews resources required by children with special<br />

educational needs and monitors the progress <strong>of</strong> these students. Reviews<br />

education provision for adults with disabilities. Advises educational institutions<br />

on best practice. Informs the Minister for Education and Science on matters<br />

relating to special education. Conducts research and publishes findings.<br />

regional resources centres and low-vision services throughout the country<br />
