Aims to provide a holistic, best practice support system for all amputees in<br />

Ireland. Empowers amputees to achieve independence, participation, and<br />

social and occupational integration in the life <strong>of</strong> the community. Provides a<br />

range <strong>of</strong> services to amputees, staffed by volunteers, including peer-to-peer<br />

counselling, information and advice. Amputee.ie believes in the following:<br />

amputees in Ireland should be entitled to free prostheses; centres <strong>of</strong><br />

excellence should be established to provide multi-disciplinary rehabilitation<br />

centres accessible to all amputees; funding should be made available for the<br />

provision <strong>of</strong> a support and information service to people before, during and<br />

after amputation.<br />
