seeking recognition <strong>of</strong> the human, economic, social, educational and<br />

cultural value <strong>of</strong> their work at home and in the community. Cúram responds<br />

to requests from the public, the government and the media to provide<br />

information and representatives. Cúram is active at local and national level<br />

and, via European umbrella federation FEFAF (www.fefaf.org), it represents<br />

the interests <strong>of</strong> Irish parents and carers with EU and UN institutions. Cúram<br />

is a bilingual organisation and is active in Irish and English.<br />

Aims to increase knowledge and awareness <strong>of</strong> cystic fibrosis (CF) and to give<br />

advice and support to people with CF and their families. Finances medical<br />

research, provides domiciliary physiotherapy care and supports specialist CF<br />

multi-disciplinary posts in hospitals around the country. Publishes leaflets<br />

and disseminates information, provides a liaison service and emotional<br />

support service to members. Campaigns for increased and improved services<br />

for people with cystic fibrosis.<br />
