Promotes, for the benefit <strong>of</strong> Ireland, the preservation and conservation <strong>of</strong><br />

historic and artistic works. The Institute organises courses for the museum,<br />

archive and library sector. It is the accrediting body for the pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong><br />

conservator/restorer in Ireland. It awards bursaries to students who are<br />

studying conservation full time, and also to conservators wishing to attend<br />

courses as part <strong>of</strong> their continuing pr<strong>of</strong>essional development.<br />

IPA is the national centre for development <strong>of</strong> best practice in public<br />

administration and public management in Ireland. The training and<br />

education programmes are tailored to the needs <strong>of</strong> public servants. Research<br />

and publications <strong>of</strong>fer an informed voice and forum for discussion and<br />

debate on public service issues. Library facilities are available to members.<br />
