A national voluntary organisation that provides services and information<br />

to support people with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and their families<br />

and carers. The Society’s support services currently comprise 26 branches,<br />

a national network <strong>of</strong> dementia-specific day-care centres, respite-at-home<br />

programmes and carer support groups, five social clubs and one respite<br />

centre. A <strong>National</strong> Helpline provides free and confidential information<br />

and support to callers. Alzheimer <strong>National</strong> Tea Day is the Society’s annual<br />

fundraiser which takes place each spring.<br />
