Aims to relieve third-world poverty by supporting small-to-medium sized<br />

Akina Dada wa Africa (AkiDwA), Swahili for African sisterhood, is a national<br />

network <strong>of</strong> African and migrant women living in Ireland. A non-governmental<br />

organisation with charitable status, AkiDwA was established in August 2001<br />

to address the needs <strong>of</strong> the expanding population <strong>of</strong> African women resident<br />

in Ireland. It is a representative body for African, migrant and Irish women<br />

living in Ireland, irrespective <strong>of</strong> their national or ethnic background, tradition,<br />

religious beliefs, or socio-economic or legal status. AkiDwA provides training,<br />
