Aims to express the response <strong>of</strong> the Catholic Church in Ireland to the<br />
needs and problems <strong>of</strong> the developing world. Activities include longterm<br />
development projects with local non-governmental organisations<br />
and providing emergency relief working with networks <strong>of</strong> international<br />
development organisations. Trócaire plays a part in tackling the root causes <strong>of</strong><br />
poverty, advocating for policy change and raising awareness on development<br />
issues both in Ireland and internationally. Its Policy/Advocacy and Education<br />
units work directly on development education, advocacy and campaigns that<br />
highlight and tackle the underlying causes <strong>of</strong> poverty in the developing world.<br />

Provides a social and medical service for people who are homeless. It<br />
operates out <strong>of</strong> a recognition <strong>of</strong> every individual’s right to be treated as an<br />
autonomous and unique human being, and the need to restore the dignity<br />
<strong>of</strong> individuals whom society has labelled deviant and undesirable. Trust runs<br />
training days around the complexities <strong>of</strong> homelessness.<br />
