A non-profit, non-governmental organisation that is devoted to
peacebuilding and reconciliation in Ireland, north and south, Britain and
beyond. The programme work builds peace and fosters reconciliation by
facilitating dialogues, creating peace education resources, and much more.
The Centre was founded in 1974 as a response to violent conflict in Ireland,
and in light of a conviction that non-violent solutions must be pursued
to encourage reconciliation within and between communities. Also has a
resource centre.

An international humanitarian organisation dedicated to the alleviation
of suffering among the poorest of the poor in the developing world.
GOAL works towards ensuring that every human being has a right to the
fundamentals of life – that is, food, water, shelter, literacy and medical
attention. It is non-denominational and non-political. It currently operates
in 11 countries across the world. It also implements rehabilitation and
long-term development programmes including care for street children and
people affected by HIV/AIDS. Since its inception, GOAL has sent over 1,200
volunteers to work in the developing world and spent in excess of €400
million on the delivery of aid to the poor. GOAL also operates a school
education programme and gives talks with slides/videos to interested groups.
