An island-wide mental health organisation run and led by service users, the<br />

Network delivers a Peer Advocacy Service. It provides information, support<br />

and choice for those who have experienced difficulties with their mental<br />

health and wellbeing.<br />

Government programme <strong>of</strong> assistance to developing countries to help<br />

reduce poverty, inequality and exclusion in these countries. Provides longterm<br />

and emergency support to developing countries. Works in partnership<br />

with governments and communities in the developing world to alleviate<br />

poverty by helping them to meet basic needs and strengthening their<br />

capacity to help themselves. Focuses on fostering <strong>of</strong> human rights and<br />

democracy. The Development Education Unit promotes and supports<br />

development education in all sectors <strong>of</strong> Irish society and works in<br />

partnership with statutory and non-statutory organisations and agencies.<br />

In 2008 the Irish Aid Volunteering and <strong>Information</strong> Centre was opened to<br />

provide information on overseas development and on opportunities for<br />

individuals to get involved in development aid, at home and abroad.<br />
