HSE ADMINISTRATIVE AREAS
There are currently four Health Service Executive Administrative Areas
(2008) and each is responsible for the provision of health and social services
in its area. They provide many of the services directly and they arrange for
the provision of other services by health professionals, private health service
providers, voluntary hospitals and voluntary/community organisations. The
four areas are HSE Dublin/Mid-Leinster, HSE Dublin/North East, HSE
South and HSE West.
There are 32 local health offices each with a local health manager who
works in liaison with the hospital managers in their geographic area to
ensure that patient and client needs are met.
