<strong>National</strong> voluntary organisation formed by patients for patients and their<br />
families. Provides help to patients with newly diagnosed renal failure, as<br />
well as continuing to help those already being treated. Members can receive<br />
assistance in the form <strong>of</strong> information or physical or emotional support from<br />
the group. Supports and sponsors research into the incidence, prevention<br />
and treatment <strong>of</strong> kidney disease, and aims to foster a better understanding<br />
and knowledge <strong>of</strong> this health problem through education. Through<br />
fundraising, it finances medical research, public education, and the issue <strong>of</strong><br />
multi-organ donor cards and also supports organ donors.<br />

The trust saves heritage buildings that are abandoned or at risk throughout<br />
the whole <strong>of</strong> Ireland. The Trust undertakes their conservation, restoration and<br />
maintenance by converting them to domestic use suitable for short-term<br />
holiday lettings.<br />
