decided on separation to negotiate with minimum distress or bitterness<br />

their own separation terms on ongoing parenting <strong>of</strong> the children, family<br />

finance, family home and property, or any other issues. This is not a<br />

marriage counselling or legal advice centre.<br />

Provides a family mediation service to couples going through a separation<br />

or divorce. Supports, promotes and develops the Family and Community<br />

Services Resource Centre Programme and provides marriage, child and<br />

bereavement counselling. It is a resource for voluntary and community<br />

groups and others involved in promoting family wellbeing. It also raises<br />

awareness about family and parenting issues. Undertakes research into<br />

matters related to its functions and has an advisory role to the Minister <strong>of</strong><br />

Social and Family Affairs in these matters.<br />
