A professional, free and confidential service under the auspices of the
Department of Social and Family Affairs. Aims to help couples who have
decided on separation to negotiate with minimum distress or bitterness
their own separation terms on ongoing parenting of the children, family
finance, family home and property, or any other issues. This is not a
marriage counselling or legal advice centre.

Provides a family mediation service to couples going through a separation
or divorce. Supports, promotes and develops the Family and Community
Services Resource Centre Programme and provides marriage, child and
bereavement counselling. It is a resource for voluntary and community
groups and others involved in promoting family wellbeing. It also raises
awareness about family and parenting issues. Undertakes research into
matters related to its functions and has an advisory role to the Minister of
Social and Family Affairs in these matters.
