The Irish Missionary Union is a collaborative network <strong>of</strong> missionary groups.<br />
It promotes the understanding, development and sharing <strong>of</strong> mission work.<br />
Main activities: providing information to missionaries on a range <strong>of</strong> topics;<br />
assisting missionaries returning to ireland; creating awareness on social<br />
and economic justice issues; co-ordinating joint ventures <strong>of</strong> its member<br />
organisations, such as the co-ordinated parish promotions programme;<br />
liaising with government bodies, non-governmental organisations and others<br />
on issues which are <strong>of</strong> common interest.<br />
