Seeks to influence the direction <strong>of</strong> Irish society from a social justice perspective.<br />

Principal areas <strong>of</strong> activity are public policy, empowerment and enabling,<br />

spirituality, advocacy and communication. Holds conferences and produces<br />

publications on a wide range <strong>of</strong> social and economic policy issues. Organises<br />

training workshops and seminars and runs an MA programme in Social Justice<br />

and Public Policy (DCU degree taught at All Hallows College, part-time). CORI<br />

has been a social partner since 1996 and plays an active role in negotiating,<br />

monitoring and evaluating national social partnership agreements.<br />

The national <strong>of</strong>fice for the prevention <strong>of</strong> domestic, sexual and gender-based<br />

violence in Ireland. Works with organisations in the sector to improve the<br />

delivery <strong>of</strong> a well co-ordinated, effective response to this type <strong>of</strong> violence.<br />

Other responsibilities: protects victims, provides services for those affected,<br />

develops strategies for prevention <strong>of</strong> these crimes, raises awareness,<br />

develops standards for service delivery and training programmes, works with<br />

perpetrators <strong>of</strong> domestic violence, undertakes research to inform future policy.<br />
