FY 2010-2011 Annual Report<br />

Trinity L<strong>of</strong>ts & Live/Work showrooms<br />

• To increase recreational opportunities, public open space and improve<br />

connections to the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dallas</strong> trails and open space system, including the<br />

Trinity Strand Trail, in the District.<br />

The Master Plan for the Trinity Strand Trail has been adopted and initial<br />

funding <strong>of</strong> $8.6 million for design and trail development has been secured.<br />

Two trailheads are now completed at Turtle Creek Plaza along Turtle Creek<br />

Boulevard between Market Center and Irving Boulevards and at the western<br />

end <strong>of</strong> Hi Line Drive (by the river channel). Construction <strong>of</strong> Phase I <strong>of</strong> the trail<br />

from Stemmons Freeway to Medical District Drive is anticipated to begin in<br />

2012. A civic plaza at Oak Lawn Avenue and Hi Line Drive has also been<br />

completed as part <strong>of</strong> the “1525 Turtle Creek at the District’ project.<br />

• To generate approximately $34.8 million (net present value) in increment over 20<br />

years <strong>of</strong> collections.<br />

The District’s 2011 total taxable value <strong>of</strong> $274,678,552 is slightly below the<br />

original projection <strong>of</strong> $276,900,806. Current projections show total collections<br />

completed by 2027.<br />

Year-End Summary <strong>of</strong> Meetings<br />

The Design District TIF District Board <strong>of</strong> Directors met once during the fiscal year from<br />

October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011. The Board approved and forwarded one item<br />

to <strong>City</strong> Council.<br />

The Board can consist <strong>of</strong> up to ten members, including six <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dallas</strong> appointees,<br />

two <strong>Dallas</strong> Independent School District appointees, one <strong>Dallas</strong> County appointee, one<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> County Hospital District appointee and <strong>Dallas</strong> County Community College District<br />

has waived their right to an appointment. During FY 2011 the Board members were (FY<br />

2011 Board meetings attended): Mike Morgan – <strong>City</strong> Representative (1 <strong>of</strong> 1 meetings),<br />
