FY 2011 Annual Report<br />

• On February 23, 2011, the <strong>City</strong> Council passed Resolution Number 11-0610<br />

authorizing a resolution in support <strong>of</strong> the Texas Department <strong>of</strong> Housing and<br />

Community Affair’s (TDHCA) 9% low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC)<br />

allocation for Veterans Place located at 4623 South Lancaster Road for the<br />

acquisition and new construction <strong>of</strong> the proposed 147-unit multifamily residential<br />

development for low income families - Financing: No cost consideration to the<br />

<strong>City</strong> Recommendation <strong>of</strong> Staff: Approval. (Related to potential Veteran’s Place<br />

project).<br />

• On March 9, 2011, the <strong>City</strong> Council passed Resolution Number 11-0683<br />

authorizing the continued occupancy under the lease agreement with Jess<br />

Baroukh L.L.C. for approximately 5,000 square feet <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice space located at<br />

2645 South Lancaster Road for the operation <strong>of</strong> the Women, Infants and<br />

Children Clinic through May 31, 2011 - Total not to exceed $7,500 - Financing:<br />

Department <strong>of</strong> State Health Services Grant Funds (subject to annual<br />

appropriations). (Related to Crest Plaza Shopping Center)<br />

• On April 27, 2011, the <strong>City</strong> Council held a public hearing and passed Ordinance<br />

Number 28186 granting a Planned Development District for mixed uses on<br />

property zoned an MU-3 Mixed Use District on the southeast corner <strong>of</strong> the North<br />

Central Expressway and SMU Boulevard Recommendation <strong>of</strong> Staff and CPC:<br />

Approval <strong>of</strong> a Planned Development District for mixed uses, subject to a<br />

conceptual plan, Subarea 1 development plan, Subarea 2 development plan and<br />

conditions Z090-181(WE). (Related to Southern Methodist University facilities).<br />

• On April 27, 2011, the <strong>City</strong> Council passed Resolution Number 11-1193<br />

authorizing (1) the establishment <strong>of</strong> a Fiji-Compton Economic Development<br />

Program, pursuant to Chapter 380 <strong>of</strong> the Texas Local Government Code to make<br />

loans and grants to promote local economic development and to stimulate<br />

business and commercial activity in the Fiji-Compton area; and (2) the execution<br />

<strong>of</strong> a conditional grant agreement in the amount <strong>of</strong> $240,000 with Sphinx<br />

Development Corporation or its wholly owned subsidiary to provide funding for<br />

the construction <strong>of</strong> twelve residential units in accordance with the Fiji-Compton<br />

Economic Development Program - Not to exceed $240,000 - Financing: 2006<br />

Bond Funds. (Related to Sphinx Development Corporation – Fiji/Compton project<br />

area).<br />

• On May 25, 2011, the <strong>City</strong> Council passed Resolution Number 11-1314<br />

authorizing acquisition, including the exercise <strong>of</strong> the right <strong>of</strong> eminent domain, if<br />

such becomes necessary, from AP-Prescott Twin Sixties, LP <strong>of</strong> approximately<br />

1,796 square feet <strong>of</strong> land located near Twin Sixties Drive and U.S. 75 Central<br />

Expressway for the Katy Trail, Phase VI Project - Not to exceed $121,900<br />

($120,000 plus closing costs not to exceed $1,900) - Financing: 2006 Bond<br />

Funds.<br />
