particularly taxable property and employment related to medical<br />

technology.<br />

Staff and the Board will continue to foster a working relationship with<br />

UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and Parkland<br />

Hospital to create investment opportunities in the District.<br />

• To generate an NPV <strong>of</strong> $27.8 million or approximately $58 million in<br />

total dollars in TIF revenues over 25 years <strong>of</strong> collections.<br />

Current economic conditions have contributed to declining property<br />

value within the District. The actual construction that occurred in 2011<br />

will be reflected in 2012 tax roll. No increment has been collected to<br />

date.<br />

Year-End Summary <strong>of</strong> Meetings<br />

The Maple/Mockingbird TIF District Board <strong>of</strong> Directors met once during FY 2011 on<br />

January 11, 2011.<br />

TIF Boards can consist <strong>of</strong> up to ten members, including six <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dallas</strong> appointees,<br />

one <strong>Dallas</strong> Independent School District (DISD) appointees, one <strong>Dallas</strong> County<br />

appointee, one <strong>Dallas</strong> Community College District appointee and one <strong>Dallas</strong> County<br />

Hospital District appointee. During FY 2011 the Board members were (FY 2011 Board<br />

meetings attended): Se-Gwen Tyler – <strong>City</strong> Representative (Attended 1 <strong>of</strong> 1 meeting);<br />

Curtis Parker – <strong>City</strong> Representative (Attended 1 <strong>of</strong> 1 meeting); Dennis Stone – <strong>City</strong><br />

Representative (Attended 0 <strong>of</strong> 1 meeting); Garrett Gibbons – <strong>City</strong> Representative<br />

(Attended 1 <strong>of</strong> 1 meeting); Tim Slaughter – <strong>City</strong> Representative (Attended 0 <strong>of</strong> 1<br />

meeting – no longer a TIF Board Member); Ward Richmond – <strong>City</strong> Representative<br />

(Attended 1 <strong>of</strong> 1 meetings); Orlando Alameda– DISD Representative (Attended 1 <strong>of</strong> 1<br />

meeting – no longer a TIF Board member); Rick Loessberg – <strong>Dallas</strong> County<br />

Representative (Attended 0 <strong>of</strong> 1 meeting); Hector Flores – DISD Representative<br />

(Attended 0 <strong>of</strong> 1 meetings – no longer a TIF Board member );<br />

During FY 2011, the <strong>City</strong> council approved ten (10) items directly or indirectly<br />

associated with the Maple/Mockingbird TIF District. The council actions are listed<br />

below.<br />

• On October 26, 2010, <strong>City</strong> Council approved Resolution No. 10-2777 authorizing<br />

a public hearing to receive comments regarding an application for an MU-3<br />

Mixed Use District on property zoned an IR Industrial Research District with deed<br />

restrictions volunteered by the applicant on the east side <strong>of</strong> Maple Avenue,<br />

between Inwood Road and Bulter Street.<br />
