FY 2011 Annual Report<br />

The first major redevelopment near the<br />

district is the Belmont Hotel, immediately<br />

adjacent to the district on the north side<br />

<strong>of</strong> Fort Worth Avenue. Originally<br />

designed and built in 1946 by architect<br />

Charles Dilbeck, the Belmont was<br />

completely renovated in late 2005. Total<br />

current taxable value: $2.1 million.<br />

The Haley-Henman Gallery at 2335<br />

Hardwick Street opened September 9, 2007<br />

in a former printing shop. This 3,200-<br />

square-foot gallery exhibits the diversity <strong>of</strong><br />

local and regional artists in various media.<br />

Total current taxable value: $101,690.<br />

McDonald’s, at 2747 Fort Worth Avenue,<br />

completed construction in 2009. Total<br />

current taxable value: $1,512,230.<br />

Avalon at Kessler Park (formerly Fairways<br />

at La Reunion) is a 198-unit senior living<br />

apartment community at the corner <strong>of</strong> Fort<br />

Worth Avenue and Bahama Drive, just west<br />

<strong>of</strong> Hampton Road. Construction was<br />

completed in August 2010 for a cost <strong>of</strong> $22<br />

million.<br />
