4. VIP - All aircraft transporting VIP’s contact Pilot to<br />
Dispatcher with block time, VIP information and requirements.<br />
5. BIRD WATCH CONDITION - Extensive migratory bird<br />
activity on and about the airfield March-September.<br />
a. Increased bird activity is announced to aircrews via ATIS<br />
and NOTAM.<br />
b. Aircrews shall advise ATC of bird observations and<br />
encounters.<br />
6. North overrun only has 165’ pavement, last 835’ is unpaved.<br />
7. C<strong>US</strong>TOMS/AGRICULTURE/IMMIGRATIONS:<br />
a. All aircraft arriving from non-CON<strong>US</strong> locations will<br />
contact Base Operations 2 hours prior to arrival for<br />
Custom/Agriculture/Immigration coordination at DSN 945-<br />
6802/6803, C210-925-6802/6803. Failure to do so may result in<br />
delays.<br />
b. All aircraft commanders will provide number of people on<br />
board by category (military, civilian, retirees, dependants and<br />
foreign nationals).<br />

Lambert-St. Louis Intl (KSTL), MO<br />
1. ANG - Normal ANG operations is 0700-1600 weekdays,<br />
except holidays. ANG ramp closed during non-duty hours. ANG<br />
ramp closed to all aircraft except official business. PPR is required<br />
for all transient aircraft. Contact DSN 824-6207, C314-527-6207.<br />
Transient aircraft contact Banjo ops UHF: 297.9 15 minutes prior<br />
to arrival. No transient maintenance available. When requested<br />
ANG maintenance will provide parking location. Transient crews<br />
are responsible for wingtip separation.<br />
2. CAUTION -<br />
a. Very limited transient parking. Use extreme caution while<br />
taxiing on ANG ramp.<br />
b. Potential hazards exist when taxiing and parking on<br />
Charlie pad due to numerous civilian aircraft and vehicle traffic.<br />
c. <strong>The</strong>re is a 12 foot blast fence south of Charlie pad.<br />
Distance from edge of blast fence to Charlie pad - west end 94<br />
feet, east end 27 feet.<br />
d. <strong>The</strong>re are numerous lines painted on Charlie pad,<br />
however, no defined taxi lines for large military aircraft to provide<br />
proper wingtip clearance when parking.<br />
e. Bird and wildlife hazards.<br />
(1) BASH Phase I - Normal level of bird activity. (April -<br />
September).<br />
(2) BASH Phase II - Heightened state, primarily<br />
associated with migratory seasons (October - March).<br />
f. Bird Watch Condition Codes:<br />
(1) LOW - Little to no bird activity on and above the<br />
airfield or operating areas with low probability of hazard.<br />
Continue with operations as normal.<br />
(2) MODERATE - Concentrations of birds observed in<br />
locations that present a probable hazard to safe flying<br />
operations. This condition requires increased vigilance by all<br />
agencies and extreme caution by pilots.<br />
(3) SEVERE - Heavy concentration of birds, on or<br />
immediately above runway or other specific locations, that<br />
represent an immediate hazard to safe flying operations. Pilots<br />
must thoroughly evaluate mission need before operating in areas<br />
under condition SEVERE.<br />

Langley AFB (KLFI), VA<br />
1. TAXIWAY RESTRICTIONS -<br />
a. Taxiway A:<br />
(1) When hot pit refueling is in progress on the W ramp,<br />
Taxiway A is restricted to aircraft with wing spans of 100' or less<br />
between Taxiway B and Taxiway M. Aircraft with wing spans<br />
greater than 100' will enter/exit the West ramp via Taxiway B and<br />
/or Taxiway M.<br />
(2) Taxiway A between midfield and Taxiway D may<br />
only be used by aircraft with wingspans less than 110’.<br />
b. Taxiway G closed.<br />
c. Taxiway J:<br />
(1) Taxiway J may only be used by NASA aircraft, with<br />
the exception of the B-757.<br />
(2) Taxiway J may only be used during daytime and VFR<br />
conditions since it does not have taxiway edge lights and is<br />
restricted to aircraft with total wing span of 80’ or less and<br />
100,000 pounds or less gross weight.<br />
d. N Ramp:<br />
(1) Aircraft must stay on the taxi lead-in line while on<br />
this ramp, to avoid taxiing over deteriorated pavement.<br />
e. All jet aircraft are prohibited from taxiing or conducting<br />
engine runs on the asphalt portion of the E and W ramps due to<br />
the deteriorating pavement.<br />
f. General information:<br />
(1) <strong>The</strong> tower will advise C-130 and larger aircraft to<br />
taxi with outboard engines at idle.<br />
(2) Turns be made to avoid blowing foreign object<br />
damage into the arm/de-arm (Rwy 08 requires a right 180° turn at<br />
end of runway, Rwy 26 requires a left 180° turn at end of runway).<br />
(3) No aircraft shall be taxied, towed or parked behind<br />
aircraft larger than a C-130 (within 1000’) while the engines are<br />
running.<br />

2. CAUTION -<br />
a. BIRD ALERT - Large concentration of birds in vicinity of<br />
airfield during inclement weather. Expect bird flocks on and in<br />
vicinity of Langley AFB (KLFI) during migratory season and intense<br />
bird activity. Fall migration S begins in October with the peak<br />
period between November-February. Peak spring migration N<br />
runs from February-April. Expect short notice Bird Watch<br />
Condition SEVERE and/or short term airfield closure.
