with load report. Aircraft overseas contact AMC/ATOC via phone<br />

patch 2 hours prior to arrival for customs.<br />

b. All aircraft, including COMLANTFLT helipad arrivals,<br />

contact Chambers Base Operations 15 minutes prior to arrival on<br />

268.8 or 126.375.<br />

c. Government transportation off base not available.<br />

d. No locked wheel or sharp turns by large or heavy aircraft<br />

on asphalt portion of runway/taxiway.<br />

Uncontrolled vehicular traffic on taxiways. Multiple service<br />

training; various types of aircraft and altitudes utilized.<br />

North Island NAS (KNZY), CA<br />

1. GENERAL POLICY - North Island NAS (KNZY) is located in a<br />

densely populated area which is extremely noise sensitive. Strict<br />

compliance with Noise Abatement and ATC procedures is<br />

mandatory. Flight course rules violations will be processed per<br />

OPNAVINST 3710.7.<br />

a. PPR for all aircraft, no exceptions, DSN 735-8233/34,<br />

C619-545-8233/34.<br />

(1) 1430Z++ Monday to 0200Z++ Friday. PPR issued to<br />

tactical military jet aircraft on Official Business Only.<br />

(2) 0200Z++ Friday to 1430Z++ Monday. PPR<br />

limitations to number and type aircraft supported may be<br />

imposed due to limited transient alert services available.<br />

(3) Tactical aircraft staging or detachment request<br />

requires a minimum of 10 days, written, prior notification.<br />

b. Heavy-class and AV8 Harrier aircraft are not normally<br />

authorized to land Rwy 29. Land Rwy 36 (TACAN, ASR, PAR, or<br />

Visual) or Rwy 18 (LOC-A or LOC-B).<br />

c. Arresting gear will not be de-rigged for T1A Jayhawk<br />

aircraft.<br />

2. NOISE ABATEMENT - Strict compliance with following noise<br />

abatement procedures required by all transient aircraft unless<br />

controller instructions or safety of flight dictate otherwise. Use<br />

appropriate aircraft configuration, power settings and airspeeds<br />

for low noise profiles.<br />

a. Practice approaches not authorized.<br />

b. Full stop landing only.<br />

c. Section approach not authorized.<br />

d. Expect visual approach (Wind/Weather permitting).<br />

e. Do not overfly the following communities below 2500’<br />

MSL:<br />

(1) City of Coronado - E of airport<br />

(2) Point Loma - Land mass W of airport<br />

(3) Coronado Cays - 6.5 DME SE of airport on the coast.<br />

(4) High-rise apartments and Hotel Del Coronado - 2.3<br />

to 3 DME on Rwy 29 final approach, except during instrument<br />

approach.<br />

3. RUNWAY <strong>US</strong>E PROGRAM - <strong>The</strong> following runway use<br />

program is in effect for Noise Abatement (wind/weather<br />

permitting) unless directed by ATC.<br />

a. Land Rwy 29 - Depart Rwy 18<br />

(1) 1500-0600Z++ Monday-Thursday<br />

(2) 1500-0200Z++ Friday.<br />

b. Land Rwy 36 - Depart Rwy 18 all other times.<br />

4. ARRIVALS RWY 18 - Transient aircraft expect LOC-A or<br />

LOC-B instrument approach.
