(5) No training or test flights are permitted from<br />

Sunday to Friday between 2100-0100Z++ and daily between<br />

0500-1200Z++.<br />

(6) Flights from European and Caribbean points of<br />

origin and from points S of latitude N25° do not require a<br />

reservation for the arrival portion of the flight.<br />

(7) Information required when making a reservation:<br />

(a) Aircraft registration<br />

(b) Aircraft call sign<br />

(c) Planned ETA or ETD at CYYZ<br />

(d) Aircraft type<br />

(e) Point of origin or destination<br />

(f) Contact name and telephone and fax number<br />

(8) A reservation number is issued for all reservations<br />

approved. <strong>The</strong> operator may be required to provide this number.<br />

b. CANCELLATIONS <strong>AND</strong> CHANGES -<br />

(1) All operators must advise the ARO prior to the<br />

beginning of the reserved slot time whenever a reservation will<br />

not be used. Operators must notify the ARO of any changes.<br />

Collect calls will be accepted for cancellations only.<br />

c. FLIGHT PLANNING -<br />

(1) A reservation number is not an ATC clearance, nor<br />

does it constitute the filing of a flight plan. Normal flight planning<br />

procedures apply.<br />

8. <strong>NORTH</strong> ATLANTIC MINIMUM NAVIGATION<br />

PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION AIRSPACE -<br />

a. GENERAL - Compliance with Minimum Navigation<br />

Performance Specification is required by all aircraft operating<br />

within the following defined airspace boundaries:<br />

(1) Between FL285 and FL420.<br />

(2) Between latitudes N27° and the North Pole.<br />

(3) Bounded in the E by the E boundaries of Control<br />

Areas Santa-Maria, Shanwick Oceanic and Reykjavik, and<br />

(4) In the W, by the W boundaries of Control Areas<br />

Reykjavik and Gander and New York Oceanic, excluding the area<br />

W of W60° and S of N38° 30’.<br />

b. Operators of Canadian-registered aircraft intending to fly<br />

in Minimum Navigation Performance Specification Airspace will be<br />

required to show that they meet all the applicable standards.<br />

CLEARANCE INFORMATION -<br />

1. LEAVING OR ENTERING CONTROLLED AIRSPACE -<br />

a. ATC will use the phrase "While in controlled airspace" in<br />

conjunction with altitude if an aircraft will be entering or leaving<br />

controlled airspace. In addition, ATC will specify the point at which<br />

an aircraft is to leave or enter controlled airspace laterally if the<br />

instruction is required for separation purposes.<br />

Example: LEAVE/ENTER CONTROLLED AIRSPACE (number)<br />

MILES (direction) OF (fix) AT (altitude).<br />

b. Aircraft destined to airports which underlie controlled low<br />

level airspace and for which there is a published Instrument<br />

Approach Procedure will be cleared out of controlled airspace<br />

(vertically) via the published Instrument Approach Procedures.<br />

Example: ATC CLEARS (aircraft identification) OUT OF<br />

CONTROLLED AIRSPACE VIA (name, type) APPROACH.<br />

c. Aircraft destined to airports which underlie controlled low<br />

level airspace and for which there is not a published Instrument<br />

Approach Procedure will be cleared to the minimum enroute<br />

altitude and asked to advise of its intentions.<br />

Example: ATC CLEARS (aircraft identification) TO MAINTAIN<br />

(altitude) ADVISE YOUR INTENTIONS.<br />

Pilots may elect to cancel IFR, depart controlled airspace laterally,<br />

or request clearance to another destination.<br />

d. Aircraft destined to airports which underlie controlled<br />

high level airspace and where there is no minimum IFR altitude<br />

established that would prohibit such a maneuver will be cleared<br />

out of controlled high level airspace.<br />

Example: ATC CLEARS (aircraft identification) OUT OF (type of<br />

airspace).<br />
