SUPPLEMENTARY AIRPORT INFORMATION -<br />

Hato Intl (TNCC)<br />

1. Curacao U.S. Forward Operating Locations Ramp<br />

Procedures.<br />

a. Aircraft parking on the Forward Operating Locations<br />

ramp for the first time, please look for the follow-me vehicle on the<br />

western end of the Forward Operating Locations ramp. Ramp is<br />

designed for P3 type aircraft with 100’ wing spans. All larger<br />

aircraft use caution and proceed directly behind the follow me<br />

vehicle without deviation into parking. OPRR/OPRM (429TH EOS-<br />

2. BIRD ALERT - Phase I operations from Jan-Sep, Phase II<br />

operations from Oct-Dec.<br />

a. SEVERE. Bird activity on or immediately above the active<br />

runway or other specific location representing high potential for<br />

strikes. Aircrews must thoroughly evaluate mission need before<br />

conducting operations in areas under condition SEVERE. Full-stop<br />

landings are permitted for emergency and low fuel aircraft only.<br />

No touch and go landings and no takeoffs.<br />

b. MODERATE. Bird activity near the active runway or other<br />

specific location representing increased potential for strikes. BWC<br />

moderate requires increased vigilance by all agencies and<br />

supervisors, and caution by aircrews. No touch and go landings.<br />

Restricted low approaches no lower than 200 feet above bird<br />

concentrations.<br />

ROUTE <strong>AND</strong> AREA RESTRICTIONS -<br />

1. CURACAO FIR/CTA SPECIAL PROCEDURES -<br />

a. General aviation VFR flights to and from the South<br />

American continent are permitted under the following conditions:<br />

(1) To and from Aruba, VFR traffic shall proceed along<br />

ATS R-568 (S of Aruba) or via overhead Adicora on radial 175 of<br />

the Aruba VOR-DME.<br />

(2) To and from Curacao, VFR traffic shall proceed via<br />

overhead Adicora on radial 260 of the Curacao VOR-DME or via<br />

overhead Campechano on radial 183 of the Curacao VOR-DME.<br />

(3) To Bonaire, VFR traffic shall proceed from Maiquetia<br />

VOR-DME direct to Bonaire.<br />

(4) From Bonaire, VFR traffic shall proceed direct to<br />

Punta San Juan.<br />

(5) VFR traffic shall cruise at or below FL55 while in the<br />

Curacao FIR unless otherwise instructed by the unit providing<br />

Approach.<br />

(6) Inbound aircraft shall establish radio contact with<br />

the unit providing Approach at the airport of destination 5<br />

minutes prior to crossing the FIR boundary. Frequencies 124.1<br />

MHz and 127.1 MHz shall not be used by these flights.<br />

(7) VFR flights other than these above shall adhere to<br />

normal procedures.<br />

b. Due to limited VHF coverage W of W71°30’ aircraft are<br />

advised to:<br />

(1) Relay position reports through other aircraft within<br />

the area to Curacao ACC.<br />

(2) Transmit position reports blind at 3 minute intervals<br />

on 127.1 MHz and 124.1 MHz until 2-way communications are<br />

established with Curacao ACC.<br />

(3) Keep a close lookout in the vicinity of crossing<br />

points with other predetermined routes.<br />

(4) Have position reports relayed through other ground<br />

stations using published HF frequency if VHF communications<br />

cannot be established.<br />

2. CURACAO TCA SPECIAL PROCEDURES<br />

a. VFR TRAFFIC<br />

(1) Contact Beatrix (TNCA) Approach 5 minutes prior to<br />

entering Curacao FIR.<br />

(2) Contact Beatrix (TNCA) Approach, Plesman<br />

Approach or Flamingo (TNCB) Tower 5 minutes prior to entering<br />

their control zones.<br />

b. IFR TRAFFIC
