SUPPLEMENTARY AIRPORT INFORMATION -<br />

Lynden Pindling International (MYNN)<br />

1. When cleared by Air Traffic Control to make a left or right<br />

turn-out after takeoff, pilots shall avoid flying over congested<br />

areas on and adjacent to the airport to minimize disturbance or<br />

undue hazard in the event of an emergency arising. <strong>The</strong>y must<br />

ensure that they are beyond the departure end of the runway or<br />

at a minimum height of 500’ AGL before commencing any turn<br />

(SPEC/AIC 9/98)<br />

ROUTE <strong>AND</strong> AREA RESTRICTIONS -<br />

1. Aircraft should be operated at 250 knots or less within 15<br />

NM radius of the following airports, except when minimum safe<br />

air speed is greater than 250 knots.<br />

a. Lynden Pindling Intl (MYNN)<br />

b. Freeport Intl (MYGF)<br />

c. West End (MYGW)<br />

2. Visual Flight Rules do not apply in the Bahamas between<br />

sunset and sunrise. Pilots are advised to file an IFR Flight Plan<br />

and obtain an Air Traffic Control clearance prior to take-off and<br />

before entering controlled airspace.<br />

3. SPECIAL DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL PROCEDURES - IFR/VFR are<br />

established over P3002 located within the Lynden Pindling Intl<br />

(MYNN) Airport Traffic Zone, approximately 3.5 NM S of airport<br />

between the ZQA R-200 and R-245.<br />

a. DEPARTURES - Adhere to instructions provided by Air<br />

Traffic Control, or climb to an altitude above 1000’ prior to flying<br />

over P3002, or avoid P3002 when unable to reach an altitude<br />

above 1000’ and:<br />

(1) Maintain heading E of the ZQA R-190 or W of the<br />

ZQA R-250 until:<br />

(a) Above 1000’ or<br />

(b) Well clear of P3002 (approximately 10 NM S)<br />

prior to proceeding on course.<br />

(2) Make a short turn, thereby remaining N of the N<br />

boundary of P3002.<br />

b. ARRIVALS - Adhere to instructions provided by Air Traffic<br />

Control, or maintain an altitude well above 1000’ until well clear of<br />

the perimeter of P3002 prior to commencing descent. When<br />

unable or when below an altitude of 1000’, avoid P3002, remain<br />

clear of the ZQA R-190 and R-250 and approximately 10 NM S.<br />

NOTE: <strong>The</strong> above procedures apply to aircraft utilizing Rwy 09-27<br />

and 14-32. Pilots may expect vectors when requested or instructed<br />

to avoid violating the prohibited airspace of P3002. Pilots are<br />

expected to adhere to the procedures herein and violators shall be<br />

dealt with according to law.<br />

ALTIMETER SETTING PROCEDURES - Standard<br />

except:<br />

1. Air Traffic Control will not assign FL200 to any aircraft when<br />

QNH pressure is less than 29.92”.<br />

VERTICAL SEPARATION - Semi-circular.<br />

1. According to agreement between Havana ACC (MUHA) and<br />

Central America ACC (MHTG) on route UR630, traffic should use<br />

the following:<br />

a. Central America heading to Havana use FL200, 220, 240,<br />

260, 280, 310, 350, 390, etc.<br />

b. Havana heading to Central America use FL190, 210, 230,<br />

250, 270, 290, 330, 370, etc.<br />

POSITION REPORTING - Standard except:<br />

1. CODES FOR SECONDARY RADAR (SSR) -<br />

a. <strong>The</strong> aircraft wishing advisory service and RADAR<br />

CONTROL, should count with responder equipment (SSR<br />

TRANSPONDER) on board.<br />

1. Central America has implemented the ICAO ANNEX 11<br />

airspace classification as follows: FIR - Class F<br />
