Savannah Hilton Head Intl (KSAV), GA<br />

1. ANG - Both the 165 AW and the ANG Combat Readiness<br />

Training Center (CRTC) are located at Savannah Hilton Head Intl<br />

(KSAV). Indicate in Remarks Section of Flight Plan which unit you<br />

plan to visit. Both require PPR. For PPR/information on the 165<br />

AW fone DSN 860-8255/8256, C912-966-8256/8255. For<br />

PPR/information on the CRTC fone DSN 860-3496/3385, C912-<br />

963-3496/3385. Limited parking on the 165 AW ramp. <strong>The</strong> CRTC<br />

ramp has limited parking during unit deployments. Reference the<br />

Airfield Suitability Report for WBC limitations on both ramps. No<br />

fleet service available. No passenger service available. Passenger<br />

screening is required in accordance with MAJCOM directives<br />

prior to filing. No drag chute repacks available. Tower closed<br />

from 0500-1100Z++. When tower is closed, obtain clearance from<br />

Macon FSS or Jacksonville Center.<br />

2. CAUTION -<br />

a. Intensive jet training during unit deployments to CRTC.<br />

b. Bird and wildlife hazards.<br />

(1) BASH Phase I - All months not designated as Phase<br />

II; bird activity is lower during this period.<br />

(2) BASH Phase II - Period of increased bird activity<br />

from 24 September-23 April.<br />

c. Bird Watch Condition Codes:<br />

(1) LOW - Bird activity on and around the airfield<br />

representing low potential for strikes. Operations will be normal.<br />

(2) MODERATE - Bird activity on or immediately above<br />

the active runway or other specific locations representing<br />

increased potential for strikes.<br />

(3) SEVERE - Bird activity on or immediately above the<br />

active runway or other specific locations representing high<br />

potential for strikes.<br />

Schriever AFB, CO<br />

1. Call DSN 560-2181/2/3 or C719-550-2181/2/3 at least 48<br />

hours prior for use of the helipad. <strong>The</strong> helipad is restricted to<br />

daytime VFR use only.<br />

2. Overflight of R2602 should be prior coordinated in<br />

accordance with AP/1A. Uncoordinated overflights are highly<br />

discouraged due to inherent physiological dangers.<br />

Scott AFB/MidAmerica (KBLV), IL<br />

1. Scott AFB/MidAmerica Airport (KBLV) is a joint use facility<br />

sharing dual runways and a connecting taxiway. A commercial<br />

Fixed Base Operator provides aircraft services to all transient<br />

aircraft parked at MidAmerica (KBLV) Terminal or cargo apron.<br />

Military equipment and services for transient aircraft such as fuel,<br />

de-icing, maintenance equipment, air stairs, etc are not available<br />

at MidAmerica Airport (KBLV). <strong>The</strong>se services and equipment are<br />

provided for a fee by MidAmerica Airport (KBLV) Fixed Base<br />

Operator, contact C618-566-5265.<br />

2. NOISE ABATEMENT - All heavy or afterburner aircraft climb<br />

straight ahead to a minimum 2000’ MSL and 1 NM from the<br />

departure end of the runway before entering a closed pattern for<br />

the respective runway. Avoid overflying Shiloh Village 2 NM to<br />

the NW and the Regional Medical Center located on Scott AFB<br />

(KBLV) 1 NM W of Rwy 14R-32L.<br />

3. RUNWAY RESTRICTIONS - Locked wheel turns on asphalt<br />

prohibited; 180° turns on asphalt authorized for light and medium<br />

category aircraft only. Rwy 32L has a 200’ displaced threshold<br />

and a 1000’ overrun (N end). Rwy 14R and 14L-32R have no<br />

overruns. Rwy 32L and 32R have elevated MALSR beginning<br />

approximately 200’ from runway approach ends.<br />

(AFFSA/AFFSA)<br />

4. SCOTT AFB (KBLV) FACILITIES - Transient aircraft, except<br />

AMC scheduled missions, may experience servicing delays due to<br />

limited transient alert personnel. <strong>The</strong>re is limited maintenance<br />

support, parking and hangar space. EXTREMELY LIMITED<br />

EXPLOSIVE STORAGE FACILITIES and restrictive parking<br />

locations make Scott AFB/MidAmerica Airport (KBLV) unsuitable<br />

for parking/servicing armed or explosive laden aircraft without<br />

pre-arrival coordination. Aircraft landing with explosive cargo/hot<br />

armament advise 375 AW Command Post or Pilot to Dispatch at<br />

least 30 minutes prior to landing. Fighter aircraft with armament<br />

are required to have stores safety pins and ground locks on<br />

board the aircraft. Scott AFB (KBLV) has no de-icing capabilities<br />

on the Scott main ramp. De-icing may be available on the 126 th<br />

ramp with 24 hour notification through the 375 Wing Command<br />

Post DSN 576-5891. Deicing limited to base assigned aircraft,<br />

JOSAC mission aircraft, and those operating in support of DV<br />

arrival/departures. 126 th Guard Ramp has the capability to de-ice<br />

only KC135 aircraft or smaller. Other aircraft may obtain de-icing<br />

services for a fee from MidAmerica airport through the Fixed<br />

Base Operators. Contact FBO to schedule de-icing and for<br />

inquires about de-icing fees. Scott AFB/MidAmerica airport<br />

(KBLV) does not have capability to de-ice C5/C17 or equivalent<br />

size aircraft. Scott AFB (KBLV) military ramp has very limited<br />

parking space for KC10, C5, C17 or similar size aircraft. Due to<br />

wing tip clearances and limited parking spots, only one C-5, C-17,<br />

KC-10 or KC-135 is allowed on the airfield at a time except for<br />

scheduled medical evacuation aircraft. No C5 tug or towbar is<br />

available.<br />

5. MID<strong>AMERICA</strong> AIRPORT (KBLV) FACILITIES - MidAmerica<br />

Airport (KBLV) provides DoD contract fuel and accepts DoD<br />

credit cards for all services and material.<br />

6. All inbound aircraft to Scott AFB/MidAmerica Airport (KBLV)<br />

contact Scott (KBLV) Command Post (SCP) on 383.2 with<br />

estimated time of arrival and block time 30 minutes prior to<br />

landing. Inbound AMC aircraft contact SCP with load message,<br />

block time, estimated time of departure, billeting, transportation<br />

and messing requirements.<br />

7. MISCELLANEO<strong>US</strong> - Customs and Border Protection (CBP)<br />

Available. Contact Base Operations 7 days prior to expected<br />

arrival to coordinate. Military customs inspectors may clear <strong>US</strong><br />

military personnel (active, reserve or national guard on active<br />

duty orders) and foreign military on NATO orders. All others<br />

must be cleared by <strong>US</strong> Customs and Border Protection, which
