Tyndall AFB (KPAM), FL<br />

1. PRIOR PERMISSION REQUIRED (PPR) - All aircraft other<br />

than base assigned aircraft must obtain a PPR number at DSN<br />

523-4244/4245, C850-283-4244/4245. Aircraft must obtain a PPR<br />

number no later than 48 hours in advance and no earlier than 10<br />

days prior. Customs must coordinate 96 hours prior. All PPR<br />

numbers valid 1 hour +/- estimated time of arrival. Early or late<br />

arrivals or departures must re-coordinate.<br />

2. HOURS OF OPERATION - Tyndall AFB (KPAM) 1200-<br />

0400Z++ Monday-Friday and 1500-2300Z++ Saturday-Sunday,<br />

closed holidays and weekends associated with holidays. 325<br />

OG/CC is the approving authority for all extended operation<br />

requests supporting the 325 th Fighter Wing tenant organizations.<br />

3. AIRCRAFT SERVICING - Limited transient parking available.<br />

Expect arrival/departure delays during peak periods. Limited<br />

COMSEC storage available, contact 325th Command Post, DSN<br />

4. TRANSIENT AIRCRAFT SERVICING LIMTATIONS - No fleet<br />

service available. Demineralized water not available. Transient<br />

Alert does not provide Follow-me service. Limited drag chute for<br />

F4 only. Transient Alert will not support local sorties without prior<br />

approval from the 325th OG/CC.<br />

5. CARGO <strong>AND</strong> PASSENGER SERVICES - Aircraft requiring air<br />

freight/cargo handling service contact 325th TRAN/LGTO, DSN<br />

523-2339/3138, C850-283-2339/3138, 24 hours prior to arrival<br />

with the following information: aircraft type, number of pallets,<br />

pieces of rolling stock and estimated time of arrival.<br />

6. C<strong>US</strong>TOMS <strong>AND</strong> AGRICULTURE - Tyndall AFB (KPAM) is not<br />

a Port of Entry. Aircraft are required to coordinate 96 hours prior.<br />

All aircraft with the exception of those in support of the 325th<br />

Fighter Wing must provide the following: estimated time of<br />

arrival, aircraft type, number of aircraft, origin of flight,<br />

nationality of aircrew and passengers, military and civilian, cargo<br />

type and weight, unit supporting, billing number and instructions<br />

concerning disposal of foreign origin garbage. Fax to DSN 523-<br />

2075, C850-283-2075.<br />

7. AIR TRAFFIC SERVICES-C130 and larger aircraft expect full<br />

stop landing. Touch-and-go not authorized. All IFR transient<br />

aircraft expect radar vector for straight-in approach to Rwy<br />

13L-31R. All VFR transient aircraft expect radar vector until<br />

airport in sight. Due to terminal wake turbulence separation<br />

criteria, all IFR small category aircraft, including T37 and T38,<br />

expect delay during student training. Heavy jet aircraft should<br />

expect descent to FL230 within 100 NM radius.<br />

8. AIRFIELD INFORMATION <strong>AND</strong> RESTRICTIONS<br />

a. Taxiway: B, G and F are 150’ wide. Taxiways A South, C<br />

and E are 100’ wide. Taxiways A Center/North, D, H and J are 75’<br />

wide.<br />

b. Taxiway P between Taxiways A and F and G and H<br />

restricted to aircraft with wingspan smaller than 58’. Aircraft use<br />

caution parallel taxiway may not provide 25’ wingtip clearance to<br />

fighter aircraft in all areas.<br />

c. 50’ stadium light poles located 13’ S of the WSEP apron<br />

edge. Aircraft commanders must confirm capability to safely<br />

turnaround prior to entering ramp area. Ensure aircraft follows<br />

marshallers to ensure wingtip clearance is maintained.<br />

d. Use caution 22’-27’ tall PAR reflector located 110’ NE<br />

from Taxiway D Center centerline. Taxiway D Center is restricted<br />

to aircraft with wingspan less than 220’. Heavy/hazardous cargo<br />

aircraft parking is available on Taxiway B and G North.<br />

e. BAK-12 approach/departure end in raised position at all<br />

times. MA-1A modified departure end in raised position at all<br />

times. Requests to lower cables for arrival/departure must be<br />

coordinated 3 hours prior to arrival/departure.<br />

f. When necessary 180° turn on Rwy 13R-31L execute in the<br />

last 1000’ of the runway. A 180° turn is not authorized on Runway<br />

13R displaced threshold.<br />

g. No arrivals or departures of aircraft with armaments, to<br />

include cap tires, chaff or departures of aircraft with armament<br />

1700Z++ Friday through 1700Z++ Monday without 325 OG/CC<br />

approval.<br />

9. BIRD AIRCRAFT STRIKE HAZARD (BASH) - Deer activity on<br />

or near the airfield is year-round. Extreme caution should be used<br />

when landing or taking off during hours of darkness.<br />

a. BIRD WATCH CONDITIONS<br />

(1) LOW - Normal bird activity on and above the airfield<br />

with a low probability of hazard. No flight restrictions apply.<br />

(2) MODERATE - Concentrations of 5-15 large birds or<br />

30 small birds observable in locations that represent a probable<br />

hazard to flying operations. This condition requires increased<br />

vigilance by all agencies and extra caution by aircrews. <strong>The</strong> traffic<br />

pattern will be limited to minimum numbers of patterns to<br />

accomplish required training.<br />

(3) SEVERE-Heavy concentration of birds (more than 15<br />

large or 30 small birds) on or above the runways, taxiways, infield<br />

areas and departure or arrival routes. Full stop landings only,<br />

formation takeoffs prohibited.<br />

<strong>US</strong>AF Academy Airfield (KAFF), CO<br />

1. Pilots are advised that flights within <strong>US</strong>AF Academy (KAFF)<br />

Class D Airspace are prohibited without contacting Academy<br />

(KAFF) Tower.<br />

2. CAUTION - Use caution Monday-Saturday during daylight<br />

hours for:<br />

a. Extensive VFR student pilot training conducted at the<br />

<strong>US</strong>AF Academy Airfield (KAFF), Aardvark Auxiliary (located 4 NM<br />

N of <strong>US</strong>AF Academy Airfield (KAFF)), and Bullseye Auxiliary (CO90)<br />

(located in NW corner of A639A).<br />

b. Extensive soaring and skydiving operations conducted in<br />

A260 (over the Academy property) from surface-17,500’ MSL.<br />

Occasional sailplane operations occur above 17,500’ MSL.<br />

c. Extensive VFR student pilot training conducted within<br />

A639A (500’ AGL - 12,000’ MSL) and A639B (500’ AGL - 12,000’<br />

MSL).
