<strong>2704</strong> Controller Alarm Operation<br />

7.4. LATCHING ALARMS<br />

The alarm is indicated until it is acknowledged by the user. Acknowledgement of an alarm<br />

can be through the <strong>controller</strong> front buttons, from an external source using a digital input to<br />

the <strong>controller</strong> or through digital communications.<br />

There are two ways that the alarm can be acknowledged:<br />

1. Automatic Reset. The alarm continues to be active until both the alarm condition is<br />

removed AND the alarm is acknowledged. The acknowledgement can occur BEFORE<br />

the alarm condition is removed.<br />

2. Manual Reset. The alarm continues to be active until both the alarm condition is<br />

removed AND the alarm is acknowledged. The acknowledgement can only occur<br />

AFTER the alarm condition is removed.<br />

These are shown below for a Full Scale High Alarm<br />

7.4.1. Latched Alarm (Full Scale High) With Automatic Reset<br />

The alarm is displayed until it is acknowledged<br />
