17.2. PV INPUT<br />

Allows access to parameters which set up the fixed Process Variable Input connected to<br />

terminals VH, VI, V+ <strong>and</strong> V-. This is the PV input for a single loop <strong>controller</strong>.<br />

17.2.1. To Scale the PV Input<br />

Scaling of the PV input applies to linear process inputs only, eg linearised transducers, where<br />

it is necessary to match the displayed reading to the electrical input levels from the<br />

transducer. PV input scaling is not provided for direct thermocouple or RTD inputs.<br />

Figure 17-1 shows an example of input scaling. where an electrical input of 4-20mA requires<br />

the display to read 2.5 to 200.0 units.<br />

17.2.2. Offset<br />

Offset has the effect of moving the whole curve, shown in Figure 17-1,up or down about a<br />

central point. The ‘Offset’ parameter is found in the STANDARD IO (PV Input) page as<br />

shown in the <strong>controller</strong> view in Section 17.2.3.<br />
