13. Chapter 13 Pattern Generator, User Values
and User Messages
13.1. WHAT IS THE PATTERN GENERATOR?
The pattern generator allows groups of digital values to be selected from a single input
number. This number may be provided from the programmer, from BCD inputs or from a
user defined source. An example of its application would be to allow fixed output patterns to
be applied to different segments in a programmer
The pattern generator consists of 16 patterns, and each pattern consists of up to 16 digital
outputs. The pattern can be selected from the user interface as follows although it is much
more likely to have been wired to another source such as a programmer user values.
