2.46L IN-LINE 4 (CYLINDER HEAD) 115CYLINDER HEAD COVERCrankcase BreatherA universal high performance re-usable crankcasebreather (must have stand pipe on valve cover). Washesclean with P4529392 cleaning fluid for extra miles ofservice.P4529394Removal1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.Crankcase breather.Remove the air cleaner and the PCV valve molded hose.Disconnect the PCV valve from the grommet in thecylinder head cover.Disconnect the PCV shutoff valve vacuum hose.Remove all the necessary vacuum and air hoses toprovide clearance for the cylinder head cover.Remove the cylinder head cover retaining screws.Detach the cover from the cylinder head by separatingthe RTV sealant with a putty knife or razor blade.DO NOT pry the cover upward until the seal has beencompletely broken.Pry the cover up at the pry ramps that are identified bythe words PRY HERE.Inspect the cylinder head cover for cracks.InstallationI.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10. Connect the PCV valve and the PCV shutoff valve hose.11.Either a standard gasket or a room temperaturevulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber sealant may be usedfor cylinder head cover installation.Use Mopar Gasket-in-a-Tube, or equivalent, for aformed-in-place gasket.Remove the original sealant (or gasket and adhesive) fromthe sealing surface area of the cylinder head and cover.Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces on the cylinderhead and cover.Apply a 3 mm (l/S") bead of RTV sealant along theentire length of the cylinder head sealing surface.Before the sealant begins to cure, position the cover onthe cylinder head.DO NOT allow the sealant to come into contact withthe rocker arms or other valve assembly components.Install the cylinder head cover retaining screws andtighten the screws with 6.2 Nem (55 in-lbs) torque.Reposition and/or connect all the air and vacuum hosesthat were moved for cover removal clearance.Install the air cleaner and hoses.r -1-1
