The package includes singleroller timing chain and sprockets.P4529822Timing chain and sprockets set.Removal1.2.Disconnect the battery negative cable.Remove the fan and shroud.3. Remove the drive belt(s).4. Remove the crankshaft vibration damper and thepulley (Figure 2-2).5.6.7.8.9.Remove the timing case cover.Rotate the crankshaft until the zero timing mark on thecrankshaft sprocket is closest to and on a centerline withthe timing mark on the camshaft sprocket (Figure 2-24).Remove the oil slinger from the crankshaft.Remove the camshaft retaining bolt and remove thesprockets and chain as an assembly.To replace the timing chain tensioner, the oil pan mustbe removed. Refer to Oil Pun Removal, ‘OilingSystem’ section of this chapter for the procedure.Installation1. Turn the tensioner lever to the unlock (down) position(Figure 2-25).2.3.Pull the tensioner block toward the tensioner lever tocompress the spring. Hold the block and turn thetensioner lever to the lock (up) position (Figure 2-25).Apply Mopar Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant to thekeyway in the crankshaft and insert the key. With thekey in the crankshaft keyway, install thecrankshafdcamshaft sprockets and timing chain.Ensure the timing marks on the sprockets are properlyaligned (Figure 2-26).
