1 st WorkshopXIII International Feed Technology Symposiumthe basic factors influencing protein synthesis and concentration are still not sufficientlyknown.Table 5. Effects of Forage to Concentrate Ratios on Milk Yield and Composition ofSaanen-Marota goats (5)ItemsForage : Concentrate75:25 60:40 45:55S.E.Milk yield, g/d 469 480 582 157FCM yield, g/d 459 431 491 126Fat, % 3.62 3.29 2.92* 0.48Protein, % 3.4 3.90 3.73 0.42Weight change, g/d -50 -10 120 13Rumination, min/d 363 339 299 40Eating, min/d 207 214 188 30Chewing, min/g NDF/MW 21.2 18.7 16.3* 1.8CONCLUSIONBased on presented data from numerous investigations dealing with the problem of theeffect of adding concentrate to goat nutrition during lactation on production, it is evidentthat for high milk production as well as for maintaining health during the lactationperiod, the addition of larger quantities of concentrate to rations for goats becomesindispensable. During the initial period of lactation, lower quantities of concentrate inthe ration have no unfavorable effect on milk production if goats have sufficient bodyreserves accumulated during late gestation. Namely, to maintain the persistence oflactation, it is recommended to fortify nutrition from the fifth month, until the end oflactation, to enable goats to accumulate body reserves. It is deemed that the program ofnutrition for dairy goats should be regarded an annual cycle during which proper goatnutrition is very important to enable formation of body reserves. Thus, during theproduction cycle, goats can mitigate variations that may appear relevant to their needsfor nutritional substances for production, and at the same time be able to adapt to variousconditions of nutrition.REFERENCES1.
