Note: Solera is a wine making technique: A Solera is method of fractional blending for wine,closely paralleling the making of Sherry or Madeira. A solera consists of several rows ofstacked oak barrels with the oldest wine in the bottom row and the most recently made atthe top. At bottling, about one-third of the wine in the bottom row is removed and wine fromthe row just above replaces it and soon, until reaching the top row, which is replenished withnew wine.
