As such, the districtrecognizes the fundamental need for students at the secondary level to be prepared for the waveof the future – an enhanced offer<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>in</strong>novative and progressive STEM programs at the postsecondarylevel, as well as demand for STEM knowledge <strong>in</strong> the workforce. Data on studentachievement <strong>in</strong> advanced placement, specific to STEM courses, demonstrates a need forexpansion of offer<strong>in</strong>gs and recruitment of low-<strong>in</strong>come students <strong>in</strong>to these programs, as well as<strong>in</strong>crease professional development of teachers who provide advanced placement <strong>in</strong>struction.Project Narrative Page 6 of 28Page 10
