As such, the districtrecognizes the fundamental need for students at the secondary level to be prepared for the waveof the future – an enhanced offering of innovative and progressive STEM programs at the postsecondarylevel, as well as demand for STEM knowledge in the workforce. Data on studentachievement in advanced placement, specific to STEM courses, demonstrates a need forexpansion of offerings and recruitment of low-income students into these programs, as well asincrease professional development of teachers who provide advanced placement instruction.Project Narrative Page 6 of 28Page 10
