Superintendent’s Recommendation:Item NumberThat the School Board of Seminole County approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submittedby Pro-Spec, Inc. in the amount of $19,512 to remodel the existing ESE restroom 02-116 andadjoining storage room 020-118, and execute Amendment No. 7 to the construction manager's currentcontract.2. Background/Analysis:The Exceptional Student Education Department in coordination with the Facilities Planning andTransportation Services Departments has implemented a program to house ESE students in theirzoned schools. In order to facilitate the needs of the additional students to be located to GoldsboroElementary School as part of this program, it is necessary to remodel an existing ESE restroom andadjoining storage room. The work will include the conversion of the rooms to a shower and changingstation and reduced storage area.Pro-Spec, Inc. has a contract with the school board to provide construction management at riskservices for district-wide construction projects under $1,000,000. The contractor has submitted a GMPproposal of $19,512 for the work involved. The Facilities Planning Department staff concur that theproposed cost is fair and reasonable, and accurately reflects the work necessary. At this time thedepartment requests that the board approve the GMP for the proposed project, and executeAmendment No.7 to the construction manager’s contract. The project will be funded through thedistrict’s small projects category.3. Fiscal Impact: The fiscal impact associated with this action is $19,512.Funding Source: 360/7400/4683/9009/85204.
