Disr<strong>up</strong>tion on Campus (S) – disr<strong>up</strong>tion of all or significant portion of campus activities, school-sponsoredevents, a classroom, other portions of a school or school board facility, and school bus transportation that poses aserious threat to the learn<strong>in</strong>g environment, health, safety, or welfare of others.Dress Code Violation - failure to comply with the established dress code policy.Drug Sale/Distribution Exclud<strong>in</strong>g Alcohol (S) – (illegal sale or distribution of drugs) the manufacture,cultivation, sale, purchase or distribution of any drug, narcotic, controlled substance or substance represented tobe a drug, narcotic, or controlled substance.Drug Violation Exclud<strong>in</strong>g Alcohol – (illegal drug possession or use) possession or be<strong>in</strong>g under the <strong>in</strong>fluence oruse of any drug, narcotic or controlled substance or substance represented to be a drug, narcotic, or controlledsubstance while on a school campus, a school bus, at a school or School Board sponsored function, or while atother School Board facilities. This <strong>in</strong>cludes possession of drug paraphernalia. Drug paraphernalia is def<strong>in</strong>ed as allequipment, products, and materials of any k<strong>in</strong>d which are used, <strong>in</strong>tended for use, or designed for use to <strong>in</strong>troducea controlled substance <strong>in</strong>to the human body.Drug Violation Other – Students are prohibited from possess<strong>in</strong>g, us<strong>in</strong>g, or distribut<strong>in</strong>g by sale or otherwise, anysubstance that is represented to be, represented to conta<strong>in</strong>, mimics, or that looks like a narcotic drug,halluc<strong>in</strong>ogenic drug, amphetam<strong>in</strong>e, barbiturate, marijuana, alcoholic beverage, stimulant, depressant, <strong>in</strong>toxicant,or controlled substance of any k<strong>in</strong>d under the law of Florida or federal law.Substance <strong>in</strong>cludes, but is <strong>not</strong> limited to, any substance that conta<strong>in</strong>s or is represented to conta<strong>in</strong> chemicals, anysubstance that produces the same effect as or is represented to produce the same effect as a controlled substance,or any analogue of a controlled substance <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g, but <strong>not</strong> limited to, K2, also known as “Spice” or “legalweed.”Electronic Device Misuse – disr<strong>up</strong>tive and <strong>in</strong>appropriate exposure/use of cell phones, text messag<strong>in</strong>g, webaccess, mp3 players, digital cameras and like communication devices dur<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>structional day. Pr<strong>in</strong>cipals <strong>in</strong>cooperation with the School Advisory Council at each school have the option of permitt<strong>in</strong>g wireless/electronicdevices for <strong>in</strong>structional purposes and/or <strong>in</strong> common areas dur<strong>in</strong>g the school day.The use of a computer/calculator to do the follow<strong>in</strong>g is unauthorized and prohibited <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g, but <strong>not</strong> limited to:violat<strong>in</strong>g the Acceptable Use Policy for Network Access (File: EHAA), hack<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to or access<strong>in</strong>g or break<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>to restricted accounts or networks; modify<strong>in</strong>g, or destroy<strong>in</strong>g files without permission; illegally copy<strong>in</strong>gsoftware; and enter<strong>in</strong>g, access<strong>in</strong>g, view<strong>in</strong>g, distribut<strong>in</strong>g, or pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>appropriate/unauthorized files, programs,pornographic sites, or sites advocat<strong>in</strong>g hate or violence.Explosives - possess<strong>in</strong>g, us<strong>in</strong>g, sell<strong>in</strong>g, stor<strong>in</strong>g, distribut<strong>in</strong>g, construct<strong>in</strong>g, or detonat<strong>in</strong>g any combustiblesubstance, or a destructive device, such as a bomb, letter bomb, pipe bomb, grenade, rocket, or similar device thatis designed to explode.Extortion - the use of threat or <strong>in</strong>timidation to obta<strong>in</strong> or attempt to obta<strong>in</strong> anyth<strong>in</strong>g of value from a<strong>not</strong>her person,<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g, but <strong>not</strong> limited to, money.Failure to Report for Detention/Saturday School - <strong>not</strong> attend<strong>in</strong>g an assigned detention or Saturday School.False Accusation Aga<strong>in</strong>st a Staff Member - the <strong>in</strong>tentional publication (oral or written) of untrue, <strong>in</strong>juriousallegations aga<strong>in</strong>st a staff member or school volunteer, or know<strong>in</strong>gly br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g false charges aga<strong>in</strong>st a staffmember or school volunteer.False Alarm - the <strong>in</strong>tentional activation, without valid cause, of an alarm system, such as a fire alarm, or the<strong>in</strong>tentional report<strong>in</strong>g of a false emergency, such as dial<strong>in</strong>g 911 and mak<strong>in</strong>g a false report.Fight<strong>in</strong>g (S) - (mutual combat, mutual altercation) when two or more persons mutually participate <strong>in</strong> use of forceor physical violence that requires either a) physical restra<strong>in</strong>t or b) results <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>jury requir<strong>in</strong>g first aid or medicalattention (does <strong>not</strong> <strong>in</strong>clude verbal confrontations, push<strong>in</strong>g, or m<strong>in</strong>or confrontations).7Page 540
