Superintendent’s Recommendation:Item NumberThat the School Board of Seminole County approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submittedby Welbro Building Corporation in the amount of $111,545 for Woodlands Elementary School FireMain Project and execute Amendment No. 5 to the construction manager’s current contractagreement.2. Background/Analysis:On April 28, 2009, the school board approved the contract with Welbro Building Corporation to provideconstruction management at risk services for district wide construction projects under $1,000,000.Welbro has submitted a GMP proposal of $111,545 to address the low water pressure supply to theexisting fire hydrant at Woodlands Elementary School.The scope of work includes but not limited to: installing 8” fire main water supply piping, additional firehydrant, and relocate existing fire hydrant. The work will start immediately upon board approval withsubstantial completion August 5, 2011.The Facilities staff and the Civil Consultant Bentley Architects concur that the proposed cost is fair andreasonable and accurately reflects the work necessary to increase water pressure to the site firesuppression system and comply with current fire safety standards.3.
