QUALITY OF PROJECT DESIGNSeminole County Public Schools proposes to implement Project ACE: Accelerated andChallenging Education, which is designed to develop, enhance and expand advanced placementprograms in English, mathematics, and science, as well as increase the participation rate of allstudents in AP courses, especially targeting low-income students. As discussed, the project willbe implemented in three of the district’s high schools with the highest proportion of low-incomestudents: Crooms Academy of Information Technology (AOIT), Lyman High School andSeminole High School. To meet the needs identified and close the gaps in achievement, theproject intends to implement numerous activities at each of the target schools. Each activity willalign to the U.S. Department of Education’s Advanced Placement Incentive Program purpose,and support the project’s overall goals, objectives and outcomes.(1) Goals, Objectives and OutcomesThe aim of Project ACE is to increase participation and success in Advanced PlacementPrograms within the district, leading to enhanced student achievement and successfultransition into post-secondary education for low-income students.
