Education, to provide regular information on the progress and needs of the project to theadministrative structure of the district.To complement the work of the AP Coordinator at the district level, the project will identifyAP Liaisons at each targeted high school to be responsible for the daily operation of the projecton-site (0.15 FTE, Grant-funded). The school-based AP Liaisons will supervise project staff andensure the successful implementation of the project at the school-level, including communicationof professional development needs of teachers. The AP Liaisons at each school will be identifiedby the school principal, and will be either an Assistant Principal, Dean or lead teacher who iswell-versed in advanced placement.In addition to personnel directly involved in project implementation, the district will utilizean advisory group to ensure involvement of stakeholders. The advisory committee will beestablished at the district level, comprised of the AP Coordinator, AP Liaisons, target schoolprincipals and selected teachers, parents and students. To support the district’s implementationof the SCPS Continuous Improvement Model, which provides for a needs assessment that is acontinuous and comprehensive process, the committee’s responsibility will include the reviewand continual assessment of project components, based on the project staff’s reports. Thecommittee will meet annually to offer insight and suggestions regarding project implementation.The intention is for project staff to coordinate these work sessions with the advisory group tofacilitate participation and feedback from those impacted by the project.In addition to the support of an advisory board, vertical and horizontal alignment ofinstructional plans, aligned with the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards, will bedeveloped in cooperation with the district’s Curriculum Services Department.
