index in example 5. Yet the example comes from Mel’čuk. Besides, he uses
to use indices with F unc and F act in analogous cases, too. (cf. examples
3 and 4 for Real — F act — Labreal).
b) In example 9, the index only specifies which argument is coded by the
subject. Mel’čuk doesn’t allow for support-verb functions to code that an
argument of the key word L (like control) is coded by an attribute of L
(like ’Paul’s).
The functions Real, F act and Labreal are syntactically just like Oper, F unc
and Labor. The difference between these two groups is that the values of the
functions of the first group bear the semantic component “realization of the
inherent purpose of L”:
