to use <strong>in</strong>dices with F unc and F act <strong>in</strong> analogous cases, too. (cf. examples<br />

b) In example 9, the <strong>in</strong>dex only specifies which argument is coded by the<br />

subject. Mel’čuk doesn’t allow for support-verb functions to code that an<br />

argument of the key word L (like control) is coded by an attribute of L<br />

(like ’Paul’s).<br />

The functions Real, F act and Labreal are syntactically just like Oper, F unc<br />

and Labor. The difference between these two groups is that the values of the<br />

functions of the first group bear the semantic component “realization of the<br />

<strong>in</strong>herent purpose of L”:
