124 KAPITEL 6. SEMANTIK
Definition 375 Real i (X). The LF Real i associates a set S of support verbs
to a predicative lexeme L , such that a) to c) hold:
a) L is direct object of the s ∈ S.
b) The index i specifies which argument of L is coded by the subject of the
s ∈ S. (L is to itself the 0-th argument.)
c) All s ∈ S bear the semantic component “the inherent purpose of L is
realized”.
Definition 376 F act i (X). The LF F act i associates a set S of support verbs
a) L is subject of the s ∈ S.
b) The inde x i specifies which argument of L is coded by the direct object
[or, by the sole object, respectively] of the s ∈ S. ( L is to itself the 0-th
argument.)
c) All s ∈ S bear the semanticcomponent “the inherent purpose of L is realized”.
Definition 377 Labreal ij . The LF Labreal ij associates a set S of support
verbs to a predicative lexeme L, such that a) to c) hold:
a) The index i specifies which argument of L is coded by the subject of the
s ∈ S.
b) The index j specifies which argument of L is coded by the direct object
of the s ∈ S. (L is to itself the 0-th argument.)
c) All s ∈ S bear the semantic component “the inherent purpose of L is
realized”.
Anmerkung 58 F act i . Mel’čuk may not agree with the passage “[or, by
the sole object, respectively]”in the definition of F act i . I didn’t find anything
like that in Mel’čuk et alii or elsewhere in Mel’čuk’s work. But this passage is
necessary to make the definition consistent with the examples of Mel’čuk et alii.
Beispiele 77 Real i (X).
a) Real 1 (promise) = keep
Clinton 1 is trying to keep his promise 0 {to cut costs in government} 3
b) Real 2 (demand) = meet
The government 2 is trying to meet the American 1 demand 0 for {more
democracy} 3 .
