MESSAGES:<br />

v The POWEROFF option is invalid for a system<br />

running in a Logical Partition.<br />

Explanation: You entered the SHUTDOWN<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> with the POWEROFF option, but the<br />

system is currently running in a Logical Partition.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: The comm<strong>and</strong> is not executed.<br />

<strong>System</strong> operation continues.<br />

User Response: Enter the comm<strong>and</strong> again without<br />

the POWEROFF parameter.<br />

v The AFTER_POWEROFF option requested is<br />

invalid for a system running in a logical partition.<br />

Explanation: A user entered the SET or QUERY<br />

PROMPT AFTER_POWEROFF comm<strong>and</strong>, or the<br />

FEATURES statement in the system configuration file<br />

specified ENABLE/DISABLE PROMPT<br />

AFTER_POWEROFF option, but the machine is in<br />

LPAR mode (logically partitioned).<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: <strong>System</strong> operation continues.<br />

User Response: The AFTER_POWEROFF option is<br />

only supported on ES/9221 processors with the<br />

POWEROFF hardware feature running first level <strong>and</strong><br />

not in an LPAR. If you believe that your configuration<br />

meets these requirements <strong>and</strong> you receive this<br />

message, contact your <strong>IBM</strong> software support to<br />

diagnose <strong>and</strong> correct the problem.<br />

User Response: Enter the comm<strong>and</strong> again without<br />

the POWEROFF parameter.<br />

User Response: The POWEROFF option is only<br />

supported on ES/9221 processors with the poweroff<br />

hardware feature running first level <strong>and</strong> not in an<br />

LPAR. If you believe that your configuration meets<br />

these requirements <strong>and</strong> you receive this message,<br />

contact your <strong>IBM</strong> software support to diagnose <strong>and</strong><br />

correct the problem.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>1021W SYSTEM SHUTDOWN COMPLETED<br />

WITHOUT REQUESTED POWEROFF<br />

Explanation: The system has been brought to a<br />

successful orderly shutdown. However, the POWEROFF<br />

option that was requested is unable to be performed<br />

because the processor does not have the Poweroff<br />

Hardware feature.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: The system enters a wait state (wait<br />

state code = 1021).<br />

Operator Response: No explicit action is necessary.<br />

You may reload for reinitialization of the <strong>CP</strong> system at<br />

anytime. The POWEROFF option was accepted by <strong>CP</strong>,<br />

therefore the IPL will come up Warm automatically, with<br />

no prompting to the system operator.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>1022A Enter 1 if you wish to have your<br />

privilege classes unlocked.<br />

Explanation: A <strong>CP</strong> SET PRIVCLASS comm<strong>and</strong> was<br />

entered with the UNLOCK option specified to unlock the<br />

privilege class settings for your own user ID. You must<br />

enter 1 for the comm<strong>and</strong> to complete. The comm<strong>and</strong><br />

will terminate with any other response.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: <strong>CP</strong> goes into <strong>CP</strong> READ mode <strong>and</strong><br />

waits for your response. If you enter a 1, <strong>CP</strong> issues a<br />

response <strong>and</strong> your privilege classes are unlocked. The<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> terminates with any other response.<br />

User Response: Enter 1 to complete the comm<strong>and</strong><br />

execution, or anything else to terminate the comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>1023E An error was detected while<br />

processing the user’s response. Please<br />

retry the comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Explanation: An error occurred while h<strong>and</strong>ling the<br />

user’s response to the SET PRIVCLASS * UNLOCK<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>. The error could be an I/O error, soft abend,<br />

or a miscellaneous system error.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: <strong>CP</strong> rejects the <strong>CP</strong> SET PRIVCLASS<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>. <strong>System</strong> operation continues.<br />

User Response: Enter the <strong>CP</strong> SET PRIVCLASS<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> again, <strong>and</strong> enter a respone of 1.
