FATAL I/O ERROR<br />

Explanation: An irrecoverable I/O error occurred<br />

during a system abend dump which was being directed<br />

to the specified device type (type) at the specified real<br />

device (rdev). The system abend dump is unable to<br />

continue.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: The current system dump is<br />

terminated, <strong>and</strong> normal system recovery procedures are<br />

continued.<br />

User Response: No action can be taken at this point<br />

to recover the remainder of the system dump.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>9260I X% of the dump has been completed<br />

Explanation: This message appears when a dump to<br />

DASD or TAPE is being taken. It indicates what<br />

percentage of the dump has been completed. This<br />

message will be displayed when 25, 50, <strong>and</strong> 75 percent<br />

of the dump has been completed.<br />

The variables in this message are as follows:<br />

X The percentage of the dump that has<br />

completed.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: Dump processing continues.<br />

User Response: None.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>9261I Dumping complete<br />

Explanation: This message appears when a dump to<br />

DASD or TAPE has been completed.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: Dump processing complete.<br />

User Response: None.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>9262I PSW = xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx<br />

Explanation: The program status word (PSW)<br />

displayed is the PSW at the time of the system failure.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: <strong>System</strong> operation continues.<br />

Operator Response: None.<br />

function to be called. The <strong>System</strong> will<br />

be quiesced until the dump is<br />

complete.<br />

Explanation: One of the following occurred:<br />

v A privileged user entered the SNAPDUMP comm<strong>and</strong><br />

to request a snapdump system dump.<br />

v A system error requested a snapdump system dump.<br />

The system could request a snapdump if the error:<br />

v Caused it to be specifically requested<br />

v Requested a soft abend that had been set to<br />

snapdump with the use of the SET ABEND<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: A snapdump is created to either the<br />

dump device defined at system initialization or the dump<br />

device specified by the use of the SET DUMP<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Operator Response: None.<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>9260E H<strong>CP</strong>9266I<br />

H<strong>CP</strong>9266I {A system error has caused the<br />

non-destructive dump function to be<br />

started|The SNAPDUMP comm<strong>and</strong> has<br />

been entered|A soft abend re-defined<br />

as SNAPDUMP has been started},<br />

however the current dump setting is<br />

OFF. No dump will be generated.<br />

Explanation: SNAPDUMP processing was started<br />

because of a system error, the SNAPDUMP comm<strong>and</strong>,<br />

or because a soft abend redefined as snapdump was<br />

hit. When the SET DUMP options were checked, the<br />

current settings indicated that SET DUMP OFF had<br />

been specified. Therefore, no dump will be generated.<br />

<strong>System</strong> Action: SNAPDUMP processing terminates.<br />

Operator Response: If you wish to receive future<br />

dumps, enter the SET DUMP comm<strong>and</strong> again.<br />
