4. James Johnstone, known as Captain James Johnstone of Lochhoiise, near<br />

Jloffat. He held t!ic lands of Thmnick, Pocoruell, and various others.<br />

He died between 1G21 and 1C32. He left no lawful issue, but he had<br />

an illegitimate son, James Johnstone of Corehead. James Johnstone of<br />

Keiss, son of his brother, was retoured his lawful heir in February I(J3i.^<br />
